Burgh House
The Burgh House collection was created by Christopher and Diana Wade in 1979. Since then, thanks to many generous donations from the public, local institutions and from the artists themselves, we have built up a collection of over 3000 artworks, objects and documents relating to the history and development of Hampstead.
Hampstead Museum was founded in 1979 by local historians Christopher and Diana Wade, with loans from Camden Libraries, Hampstead Artists Council and the Heath & Hampstead Society. After launching an appeal for objects from the local community, donations poured in and the collection now consists of approximately 3,000 objects. Hampstead Museum achieved Arts Council Accreditation in 2011.
