With summer fast approaching, London’s rooftop bar and restaurant game is strong. There’s a whole host of newbies, golden oldies and revamped re-openings. Our list also covers every vibe – from super chilled to where’s the DJ at? So whatever atmosphere you’re looking for, we’ve got you covered. Check out our top ten picks in the sky.

Queen of Hoxton Rooftop

The Queen of Hoxton (Shoreditch)

East London never loses its ability to stay super cool. All the time. From May the rooftop terrace at Queen of Hoxton transforms from it’s current Nordic Viking theme, into Neverland – a natural progression some may say.

Franks Cafe

Franks café (Peckham)

Frank’s café sits on top of a multi story car park and will be reopening on the 19th of May. Will the pink stairs remain? Will the Campari bar be intact? A couple of things we’re certain that won’t change: the amazing views, relaxed vibes and a good selection of drinks.

Dalston Roof Park

Dalston Roof Park (Dalston)

Dalston Roof Park has been refurbished and reopens on Saturday 29th April, hooray! This versatile space began as a collection of allotments and is now a garden, a music venue and a place to eat, drink and dance all at once.

18 Ashwin St, London E8 3DL

Netil 360 (hackney)

This little gem really is a gem. It’s super chilled out and perfect for those freelancers who want to work in the sun. Not only do they have a dog (called Tres), they even allow other dogs in too. Does this place also go by the name of Heaven by any chance?

The Culpeper

The Culpeper (Spitalfields)

The Culpeper is not a rooftop bar, it’s a rooftop pub – and we’re so down with that. But don’t be fooled this isn’t a pub in a traditional sense; there’s a rooftop greenhouse, a wood fired grill and some seriously slick food and drink.

40 Commercial St, London E1 6LP

Proud Camden

Proud Camden (Camden)

Very recently launched, Roof Gardens is a proud new part of Proud Camden. Featuring water features, full decking and ‘one of the best burger pop-ups in the city’ (we’ll be the judge, thank you) it’s a calm oasis above the usual Camden bustle.

Camden Market, Chalk Farm Rd, London NW1 8AH

Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden

Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden (Southbank)

Southbank in the sun is totally divine. Bang in the middle is the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden with free entry and beautiful river views. A special mention must be given to the brave volunteers from EcoTherapy who look after the gardens.

South Bank Centre, Belvedere Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8XX

Madisons (St Pauls)

Those shots on Instgram with the beautiful St Pauls in the background are taken right here at Madisons Rooftop terrace. It’s chic and elegant with a real city atmosphere and unlike their counterparts, they’re open all year round.

One New Change, 1 New Change, St Paul’s, London EC4M 9AF

Pergola on the Roof (White City)

One of the prettiest rooftop bars – it’s more suited to a Barcelona postcode – with an amazing selection of food is Pergola. Good news for fans, their sister bar is coming to Paddington on the 24th of May while their original home in White City opens on the 3rd of May.

Multi-Storey Car Park, Television Centre, Wood Ln, London W12 7RJ

Amphitheatre Terrace, Royal Opera House (Covent Garden)

The Amphitheatre Terrace is a real treat. The restaurant is only open to ticket holders, so why not make the most of your evening with a performance and an evening meal out on the terrace. Find out what’s on here.
