We’re heading over to the humble suburbs of Leytonstone this week (birthplace of Sir Derek Jacobi and Alfred Hitchcock thank you very much). If you’re a history buff, you might already know that Leytonstone has deep roots to Roman times. The name itself was given by the Roman 10th legion and Roman archaeological features have been found in the area too. Back to today though, here’s our must-visit spots.

Le Petit Corner

A fabulous unassuming café that is a great meeting spot for catch-ups, work-time or some alone time with a special area dedicated to entertaining the toddlers. The staff are delightful, catering to all needs (including almond milk requests) and the homely food is so welcoming.

Hitchcock pilgrimage

For any movie buffs Leytonstone is a sweet, sweet treat with a few odes to Hitchcock around the area – you just need to find them. Be sure to check out the mosaics at the tube station, a striking building with birds artwork around 517 Leytonstone High Road and finish off with a pint at the Hitchcock Hotel.
